At Insight Vision Center Optometry, we’re committed to bringing the latest advancements in eye care to professionals and patients alike. This season, we were proud to host a Virtual COPE Continuing Education on Myopia Management and Keratoconus event that brought together over 200 eye care professionals from around the world to learn, connect, and elevate their expertise.
Our virtual COPE event was a massive success, with attendees joining from across the globe. The focus? Two important and rapidly evolving areas of eye health: myopia management and keratoconus.
Presented by our own experts, Dr. Schramm and Dr. Mai, the session offered a detailed overview of keratoconus, a progressive condition in which the cornea thins and begins to bulge outward, distorting vision.
🔍 Key insights included:
Eye rubbing is a surprising contributor to keratoconus progression.
Early detection is crucial—look for persistent blurry vision that doesn’t correct with glasses.
Treatments such as specialty lenses and Corneal Cross-Linking (CXL) offer life-changing benefits.
The event also focused on pre-myopia, a proactive approach to slowing the progression of nearsightedness in children and young adults.
🧠 Topics covered:
Rising rates of early-onset myopia
Importance of early intervention for long-term vision health
Modern treatments including low-dose atropine drops, multifocal soft lenses, and Ortho-K lenses
A heartfelt thank-you to all the professionals who joined us. Together, we’re building a more informed and empowered eye care community. Stay tuned! There’s more to come from Insight Vision Center Optometry!
